The Barrie Construction Association (BCA) is presenting an overview of the Certificate of Recognition (CoR) Program at an afternoon event on Dec. 19.

Ken Rayner, Infrastructure Health and Safety Association (IHSA) vice-president, customer relations, market development and labour relations, is the speaker at the BCA’s Lunchbox Series event from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. to provide an overview of the CoR program.

Rayner has been involved with CoR since it was brought to Ontario by IHSA about eight years ago. He has worked with major public buyers who have adopted CoR and is very involved in the continual promotion of the program.

The session will cover an overview of the CoR program, alignment with the WSIB Health and Safety Excellence Program and the Ministry of Labour’s Accreditation program, along with guidance on the implementation of an occupational health & safety management system.

It is open to BCA members for free and non-members can attend for $25, including lunch. It’s an opportunity to receive information directly from the entity responsible for governing CoR in Ontario.

The BCA office is at 200 Brock St. in Barrie.
