Buttcon leaders roll up their sleeves in Mexico to build a home for a family in need

Ontario Construction News staff writer

Buttcon‘s CEO and president Mark Butt joined board director David Bentall and his family in Mexico in December, to help build a home for a family in need through Homes of Hope, part of YWAM’s international community-building efforts.

In just two days, Mark, David and volunteers including neighbourhood kids and the single mother receiving the home — worked side by side to create a safe, dignified place for her family.

“I grew up building homes, but this was unlike anything I’ve experienced,” Butt said. “To see a community come together, and to watch the family take part in building their own future, was incredibly moving. I’ll carry this with me for a long time.”

The experience is part of Buttcon’s ongoing social commitment: using our skills to uplift communities, “supporting families and leading with compassion wherever we build.”
