The Town of Caledon has granted final planning approvals for the Choice Caledon Business Park, to be built on the north side of Mayfield Road between Airport Road and Torbram Road.
With the approval of the subdivision agreement and registration of the subdivision plan, this project has reached an important milestone, clearing the way for continued construction and long-term job creation in Caledon.
The Choice Caledon Business Park will attract industrial and logistics while recognizing the surrounding natural environment. When fully built out, the project will include:
- 340 acres of employment lands supporting business and job growth
- 107 acres of conservation and natural lands, together with additional conservation lands
- Two new public roads connecting to Mayfield Road and Airport Road, designed to safely handle truck traffic and support efficient movement of goods
- Several major facilities at the business park are already complete or moving forward:
“Choice Caledon Business Park is more than an industrial development; it is a long-term investment in the future of Caledon,” said Michael Rice, Chief Executive Officer, Rice Group. “With an additional 3 million square feet of industrial development in the pipeline, this project will continue to attract industry-leading logistics, distribution, and advanced manufacturing companies, creating jobs, driving investment, and reinforcing Caledon’s position as one of Canada’s premier employment destinations.”
A National Logistics Services (NLS) facility is fully built and operating and construction has started on an additional building that will accommodate another major employer.
“Caledon’s strategic location, transportation network, and collaborative approach have made it an ideal place for us to deliver competitive solutions for our clients,” said Mark Dienesch, President, National Logistics Services. “We look forward to continuing to grow alongside the community and contributing to the region’s long-term economic success.”
Together the developments encompass more than 2.8 million square feet of new industrial space and significant employment opportunities for Caledon residents and the surrounding region. The business park has room for up to four additional buildings and more than 3.24 million square feet.
“Caledon continues to grow as a place where businesses can invest, innovate, and create jobs. The Choice Caledon Business Park will help strengthen our local economy, create opportunities for residents close to home, and support thoughtful growth that benefits our community today and into the future” said Mayor Annette Groves.
