In the “work at home” or in many cases, simply “stay at home” environment during the COVID-19 pandemic, with kids away from school and families together in vacation-time mode (but without the ability to go anywhere on vacation), it is good to have some extra entertainment and activities.

The folks at Kickasscareers.com developed a colouring book designed to honour the front-line workers during the pandemic. F.J. “Stovepipe” Pette (an artist, millwright and stationary operating engineer), Jamie “Squirrel” McMillan (ironworker, boilermaker and professional speaker) and Pat “Mighty Mouse” Williams (stationary operating engineer and skilled trades advocate) developed this copyrighted material, providing permission to reproduce and redistribute it in “any form for children to colour and enjoy.”

Ontario Construction News welcomes your kid’s submissions of their work, either from the framework in this colouring book, or something they have created from scratch, and will set up an informal judging panel to award modest gift card prizes (worth about $50) the week after the submission deadline of April 30. In exchange, we would seek permission to republish the artwork in a future issue.

You can send your contribution to insights@ontarioconstructionnews.com as a pdf file attachment or through a link through Dropbox, Google Drive, or similar file transfer services.
