EllisDon has been named the winner of the Canadian Law Award’s (CLA) Singleton Urquhart Reynolds Vogel LLP Award for construction, infrastructure, and transportation law department of the year.

The award recognized EllisDon’s Canadian-based legal services department and its “innovative, quality, quantity, and significant contributions to the construction, infrastructure, or transportation sectors” during 2021.

“The last two years were challenging. Legal Services dealt with new and unique issues while keeping up with its regular work–that is, our executive assistants, lawyers, labour relations, subcontract management, and insurance claims teams,” said Andrés Durán, senior vice president, legal counsel, EllisDon.

“I am extremely proud of this team’s commitment, collaboration, and hard work to achieve this well-deserved award.”

Legal department staff manage construction contract review and negotiation, subcontractor-consultant contractual issues, P3 pursuits, real estate projects, corporate, claims management, enterprise intelligence, digital services, and more.

The Canadian Law Awards recognize leading law firms, in-house legal teams, individuals, deals, and cases.
