Fusioncorp Developments Inc. awarded $8M construction management contract to convert Toronto apartment building into hotel

Fusioncorp Developments Inc. says it has been awarded a $8 million construction management contract to transform a five-storey residential apartment building into an 18,582 sq. ft. hotel.

The project, Hotel Beebop, will be located at 45 Mutual St. in Toronto, the company said in a statement last Friday (April 26). The existing building will be converted into four new hotel levels with 48 units.

The hotel’s 18,582 sq. ft. of floor area will be spread out across four levels with a similar floorplate. Fusioncorp will work with the developer Castl Inc. and onespace unlimited inc. (architecture and interior design) to create the hotel’s exterior and indoor interiors.

“We are intrigued by this project. We have many successful building conversions and expansions in our portfolio and a hotel in the downtown Toronto core is a welcome addition,” said Nick Ainis, co-founder and CEO of Fusioncorp Developments.

“The address is ranked a walker’s, rider’s and biker’s paradise on Walkscore.com, which is ideal for hotel guests. This conversion poses some challenges, including construction access in such a busy area. We’re looking forward to getting underway.”

Construction is scheduled to begin later this year, with a projected completion date of spring 2026.
