Infrastructure Ontario seeks contractors for Uxbridge hospital expansion

Ontario Construction News

Infrastructure Ontario and Oak Valley Health have issued a request for qualifications for the Oak Valley Health – Uxbridge redevelopment project in Uxbridge in southern Ontario.

The request is the first step in the process to select architects, engineers, builders and other contractors for the project.

Submissions will be reviewed to shortlist teams with the required construction experience, as well as the financial capacity to deliver a project of this size and complexity. Shortlisted firms will be invited to respond to a request for proposals to be published this summer. Interested companies must register on merx.com to download the request for qualifications.

The Oak Valley Health – Uxbridge Redevelopment Project is using a design-bid-build model. The architect and engineers of record, under contract to Oak Valley Health, are completing the design documents. This request for qualifications is to select a contractor to deliver the project based on the designs.

This project will transform, modernize, and expand Oak Valley Health – Uxbridge, Infrastructure Ontario said in a press release. At approximately 140,000 square-feet, the new Uxbridge Hospital site will add patient beds and expand services such as ambulatory care and diagnostic imaging.

As part of the new redevelopment, the hospital’s clinical areas will include:

  • ambulatory services
  • emergency services
  • inpatient services
  • diagnostic Imaging and cardiorespiratory services
  • inpatient laboratory
  • inpatient pharmacy
  • administrative services
  • support services
