Minth Group Ltd. is accelerating its North American growth strategy with a transformative joint venture with AISIN Corporation, a global Tier One automotive supplier. The partnership marks phase two of Minth’s manufacturing expansion in Windsor-Essex, including the construction of a second 150,000-sq. ft. structure, which is expected to bring hundreds of skilled jobs to the region.
The Minth-AISIN joint venture combines the manufacturing expertise, innovation capabilities, and global customer reach of both companies. It builds on Minth’s 379,415-sq. ft. building already under construction at 5000 Cabana Rd. E. on 54 acres at Windsor International Airport.
Headquartered in Kariya, Japan, AISIN is one of the world’s largest Tier One automotive suppliers, with more than 191 consolidated companies and over 120,000 employees worldwide.
“This signing celebrates the continued commitment of Minth to Canada and Windsor,” said William Chin, Chief Strategy Officer of Minth Group. “With the addition of AISIN, the combined resources and talent will provide a tremendous team to support growth for decades to come. We are grateful to the leadership of Mayor Dilkens and all levels of government that have supported this project.”
The new facility will complement the first building under construction and is designed to produce aluminum, steel, and polymer-based components for electric vehicle platforms across North America. The expansion aligns with Minth’s earlier commitment to create 1,099 direct jobs and supports regional efforts to develop an electric vehicle (EV) supply chain.
Local partners, including the City of Windsor, the Province of Ontario through Invest Ontario, and Invest WindsorEssex, continue to support Minth’s long-term growth.
The company is working with local developer Rosati Construction as the design-builder for the new facility, utilizing the Rosati Fast-Track Program to begin construction while design work continues, accelerating timelines without compromising quality.
“This next phase of Minth Group’s investment reinforces Windsor-Essex as a premier destination for advanced automotive manufacturing,” said Andrew Dowie, Member of Provincial Parliament for Windsor—Tecumseh. “With hundreds of new high-quality jobs, cutting-edge EV component production, and a strengthened global footprint, this investment is a major step forward in positioning Windsor-Essex as a leader in the electric vehicle supply chain.”
Provincial support was highlighted by Vic Fedeli, Minister of Economic Development, Job Creation and Trade, who said, “This collaboration will create hundreds of new, good-paying jobs in the Windsor-Essex region, building on the 1,000 jobs created through Minth’s previous investment.”
With this new phase, Windsor-Essex is poised to solidify its role as a North American hub for electric and hybrid vehicle component manufacturing while enabling Minth and AISIN to meet growing OEM demand and deploy cutting-edge technologies across the continent.
