Ontario Construction News staff writer

Helen Noehammer, currently the Director of Infrastructure Planning and Engineering Services, will transition to the role of Director Works Operations and Maintenance in Mississauga on June 6, replacing former Director Mickey Frost, now retired.

“This transfer enables Helen to apply her knowledge, skills and significant years of experience in the industry and here at the city to the complex portfolio within the works operations and maintenance division,” said Geoff Wright, commissioner, transportation and works. “This is the first time the city has had a female leader in this role and I look forward to Helen’s fresh perspective regarding the delivery of our operations.”

Noehammer has over 28 years of experience in the transportation and municipal engineering fields including eight at the City of Mississauga where she championed the stormwater charge, the award-winning transportation master plan, the cycling master plan, and the vision zero action plan.

She holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Chemical Engineering and a Masters of Applied Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Toronto.
