Four new hangars are under construction at Brantford Airport as the Southwestern Ontario facility prepares for increased aircraft traffic.
The expansion project is a collaboration between Donovan Group, an international designer and manufacturer of construction technology; Ontario-based Canadian Metal Buildings (CMB); and Area Construction, a CMB-authorized builder.
The hangars will provide private aircraft storage space, with designs tailored to meet the needs of pilots and ground crews. CMB developed layouts that optimize usable space and improve accessibility, while installation is being handled by Area Construction. The structural integrity of the buildings is supported by Donovan Group’s DonoBrace bracing technology.
“We are looking forward to leading this modern construction project with the Donovan Group,” said Justin Bruzzese, CEO of Canadian Metal Buildings. “DonoBrace is offering a faster, more streamlined process for designing, fabricating and installing a necessary structural component for metal buildings.”
CMB adopted DonoBrace as its standard bracing system in 2024 and now uses the technology in all major projects, the company said.
“We are proud to partner with Canadian Metal Buildings to bring this cutting-edge construction project to life,” said Oliver Foote, chief commercial officer at Donovan Group.
Brantford Airport, located just west of the city, is working to attract more air traffic by investing in upgraded infrastructure.
