North Star Contracting Inc. has been awarded a contract to complete the Ogden Road Realignment project in Calgary. Work begins in October and is scheduled to be complete by next summer.
“North Star Contracting is proud to be part of the Green Line LRT construction. This project represents a significant investment in the future of Calgary, supporting sustainable transportation, connecting communities, and creating opportunities for growth across the city,” says Jacob Wiens, Operations Manager.
“As a local contractor, we are excited to contribute our expertise and resources to this landmark initiative. Our team is committed to delivering high-quality work, prioritizing safety, and collaborating closely with project partners to ensure the Green Line is built to serve Calgarians for generations to come.”
The main scope for the project includes shifting a stretch of Ogden Road S.E., between the Canadian National Railway bridge and 69 Avenue S.E., to the west to make room for the Green Line tracks, which will run between the realigned Ogden Road and the Canadian Pacific Kansas City railway line.
Work also includes installing a water mainline, storm and sewer lines, reconstructing a portion of Millican Road, adding multi-use pathways on both sides of Millican Road and along the west side of Ogden Road, adding a new parking lot at the south end of Pop Davies Athletic Park that will include almost 100 new parking spots, and more.
With two other major projects already in progress, this project highlights Green Line’s continued momentum as we push on with main construction of the S.E. Segment of Phase 1.
