The Ontario government has committed $6 million to launch the 2025–26 intake for the Indigenous Community Capital Grants Program (ICCGP), supporting new infrastructure projects across Indigenous communities and organizations.

The annual program funds capital projects that strengthen local infrastructure and promote long-term economic growth, job creation, and prosperity.

“Working in tandem with Indigenous communities, our government is supporting critical infrastructure projects that are important to building strong, prosperous communities,” said Greg Rickford, Minister of Indigenous Affairs. “Through the Indigenous Community Capital Grants Program, we’re investing directly in Indigenous-led capital projects that create economic opportunities and jobs and reflect our commitment to partnerships that sustain long-term prosperity across the province.”

Since its relaunch in 2016, the ICCGP has supported a wide range of projects, including community centres, business hubs, and cultural spaces. Examples include a recreation centre in Webequie First Nation, a community and business centre in Anishinabe of Wauzhushk Onigum First Nation, and a multi-use facility in Kitchenuhmaykoosib Inninuwug.

The 2025 intake remains open until Nov.13 at 6 p.m. (EST). Applications must be submitted through Transfer Payment Ontario.

In 2024-25, Ontario invested in 48 Indigenous-led projects through the ICCGP and the Indigenous Economic Development Fund (IEDF).

The Indigenous Community Capital Grants Program (ICCGP) has operated since 1989 and was re-launched in 2016 to address infrastructure gaps. Applications for 2025 funding must be submitted through Transfer Payment Ontario by Nov. 13.
