Toronto issues $771.7 million in January building permits

The City of Toronto issued $771.7 million in new building permits in January, close to the $776.6 million issued in December, 2022.

Here is an outline of the five largest projects by permit value.

$106 million – 470 Wilson Ave.       

Urban Toronto reports the Nordic Condos project occupies a site at 470, 490, and 530 Wilson Ave. In North York, formerly used as a four-storey commercial structure and two four storey-rental buildings. The mixed-use project has three 12-storey buildings combining rental replacement units, condos and retail/office space, with three underground parking levels. Gh3 designed the structure for Collecdev.

humber river$56,433,750 – 2109 Finch Ave. W.

EllisDon is building the Humber River Long Term Care Home for Humber River Hospital.  Montgomery Sisam Architects designed the 320 unit, six storey structure.

$50 million – 831 Glencairn Ave.

This is another North York condo development, reaching 10 stories. Kirkor designed the building for Chestnut Hill Developments.

8 haus$30 million – 2433 Dufferin St.

Romanov Romanov Architects has designed this 9-storey, 99 unit structure for Royal Park Homes. Urban Toronto says 8 Haus Condos was previously known as The Bean Condominiums.

700 sheppard$30 million – 700 Sheppard Ave. W.

Quadcam Developments is building this 10-storey condo, designed by KFA Architects + Planners. There will be 128 residential units, with retail at grade.
