Construction has started on a new 84,000-sq.-ft. paramedic reporting station in Caledon, the largest facility of its kind in Peel Region. The project, awarded to Aplus General Contractors Corp., is scheduled for completion in early 2027.
The Docksteader station is designed to accommodate 60 ambulances—35 more than Peel’s current largest station. The building will include a “make-ready” bay for cleaning and restocking vehicles, training facilities, administrative offices, state-of-the-art storage for medical equipment and supplies, and amenities such as locker, fitness and prayer rooms.
Designed to achieve zero-carbon certification, the station will operate 24/7 and serve as a hub for paramedics in Caledon and north Brampton. It will join Peel’s existing Fernforest, Rising Hill, Streetsville and Tomken reporting stations.
“In 2024, Peel Regional Paramedic Services responded to 148,000 emergency calls,” Peel Paramedic Chief Brian Gibson said at the groundbreaking ceremony last week. “With call volumes expected to more than double by 2036, investing in new infrastructure, ambulances and staffing is essential to ensuring timely and appropriate care.”
