The Town of Grimsby has completed its Transportation Master Plan (TMP), establishing a long-term framework that will guide transportation infrastructure planning, design, delivery, and maintenance for the next 20 years and beyond.
The completed plan has been released for a 30-day public review period. Residents are invited to review the document and submit comments by Aug. 10, before the town approves final implementation of the strategy.

Developed in partnership with engineering and consulting firm CIMA+, the plan sets out a vision creates a clear and efficient capital plan to meet the infrastructure needs of the Town for the short, medium and long term..
A combination of public engagement, technical analysis, collaboration with government agencies and stakeholders, and coordination with the Town’s ongoing Official Plan Review were completed during the process.
The strategy identifies priorities across all modes of transportation, including road infrastructure, active transportation, and public transit. It also outlines policies and implementation strategies intended to support future capital planning and infrastructure investment.
Objectives include:
- Establish a long-term vision for Grimsby’s transportation network
- Identify improvements for roads, sidewalks, cycling infrastructure, and transit
- Provide strategies and policies to guide future transportation investments
- Support growth while enhancing safety, accessibility, and network connectivity
The plan provides a roadmap for future municipal infrastructure projects that will be delivered as the community grows over the coming decades. Transportation master plans are typically used to inform development approvals, capital budgets, environmental assessments, and long-range infrastructure programming.
