The City of Mississauga celebrated its 2025 Urban Design Award winners on Oct. 23, recognizing projects that contribute to a “more vibrant, sustainable, and livable community”.
The annual awards highlight spaces from residential buildings and parks to community-focused public spaces. This year’s theme, Reflections and Visions, encouraged participants to honour Mississauga’s city-building legacy while imagining the future of its urban landscape.
“The Urban Design Awards showcase the creativity and dedication of architects, landscape architects, artists, and planners who shape the look and feel of our city,” said a city spokesperson. “These projects not only enhance our public spaces, they also reflect our commitment to sustainability, wellness, and community.”
Launched in 1981, the Mississauga Urban Design Awards are the longest-running municipal urban design awards in Ontario. Over the decades, the awards have recognized innovative and inclusive projects that help make Mississauga a more welcoming and resilient city.
This year’s winners include a mix of residential, park, and community projects that demonstrate innovative design, sustainability, and a focus on well-being.
Photos and detailed profiles of the winning projects are available on the city’s website.
